Fana is an artist, director and producer whose work is rooted in expressions of eroticism, power, and compassion.
They are currently a PhD student in Critical Dance Studies at University of California, Riverside.
During Fall 2024, Fana was on visiting faculty at Harvard University. Their short film, nesting, commissioned by TBA21-Academy in 2023, is an official selection for the 2025 Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival and has been screened in Sri Lanka, Spain, France, Costa Rica, Barbados, and New York City. Fana was Rehearsal Director for Ailey II during 2016-20 and in 2020, she was shortlisted for the BCLF Elizabeth Nunez Caribbean-American Writer's Prize.
Fana has been an artist in residence at multiple locations including: Djerassi Resident Artists Program, The Watermill Center, BAM Fisher Studio, Movement Research, MANCC Forward Dialogues, BAAD! and the Dance & Performance Institute in Trinidad and Tobago.
Her live performance work has been presented at venues including Abrons Arts Center, Brooklyn Museum, and Governors Island, New York.
