Fana Fraser is an artist, director, and producer whose work is rooted in expressions of eroticism, power, and compassion.

Her navel string is buried in Trinidad & Tobago. Their wisdom teeth are buried in New York City.

Fana is a Fall 2026 Artist in Residence at MANCC. Most recently, their work was co-presented by JACK and Governors Island during Summer 2026.

Their short film, nesting, commissioned by TBA21-Academy, is an official selection for the 2025 Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival and has been screened in South Korea, Sri Lanka, Spain, France, Costa Rica, Barbados, and New York City.

During Fall 2024, Fana was a Visiting Lecturer in Dance at Harvard University. Fana toured internationally as Rehearsal Director for Ailey II during 2016-20 and in 2020, she was shortlisted for the BCLF Elizabeth Nunez Caribbean-American Writer's Prize.

They have been an artist in residence at multiple locations including: Djerassi Resident Artists Program, The Watermill Center, BAM Fisher Studio, Movement Research, MANCC Forward Dialogues, BAAD! and the Dance & Performance Institute in Trinidad and Tobago. Fana has received support from the Jerome Hill Foundation, NYSCA, and Foundation for Contemporary Arts.

Her live performance work has been presented at venues including The Judson Church, Abrons Arts Center, Brooklyn Museum, and Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco.

As a dancer, Fana has appeared at several venues including: The Little Carib Theater, Brouhaha Liverpool International Street Festival, Greenwich + Docklands International Festival, Holland Dance Festival, New York City Center, Celebrate Brooklyn!, The Los Angeles Music Center, The Banff Centre, The Joyce Theater, Performa 13, The Guggenheim Museum, Frieze New York, Art Basel Miami, The ICA Boston, The National Arts Club, Belfast Festival, REDCAT, and Trinidad Theatre Workshop.
